The Haunted Dell
“The Haunted Dell” is one of the nine-piece collection Ghost Tales, published in 1918 by the Willis Music Company. The piece is also entitled “The Traveler’s Story” and was originally published with this poem:
In a deep, dark wood there’s a cool shady Dell
Where the moss hangs low, and I’ve heard tell
That when midnight comes you can always hear
Mysterious muisc, soft and clear!
It comes from the Dell (and there’s no soul there!)
Yet this melody rings on the still night air:
In a deep, dark wood there’s a cool shady Dell
Where the moss hangs low, and I’ve heard tell
That when midnight comes you can always hear
Mysterious muisc, soft and clear!
It comes from the Dell (and there’s no soul there!)
Yet this melody rings on the still night air:
