Chord tones played together that are not part of an accompaniment pattern.

Blocked Chords

Notes that are either raised or lowered by two semitones.

Double Accidentals

Notes that are tied for extended periods, often over several measures.

Held Notes

Unnotated sections of pieces (or entire pieces) where the performer is asked to make up the notes, rhythms, expression, or other aspects of the music.

Improvisation

A type of articulation indicating the player to play smoothly and seamlessly, with the notes slightly overlapped.
